About Sarah

As a forest therapy guide and mind-body coach, my mission is to help people feel better, while remembering our connection to the Earth and each other.
I support people recovering from chronic illness and pain, as well as people just feeling stressed or disconnected.
I meet with people in parks and forest preserves throughout Chicagoland, as well as over Zoom – both in groups and one-on-one.
In addition to years of training in various science-backed tools, I draw from my own personal journey of recovering from chronic illness and pain, and learning to treat myself with love and compassion.
I live in Evanston, Illinois with my greatest teachers – my husband, two teenage kids, and rescue pug-hound.
My training:
Holistic Life Coaching (in progress, expected in 2024, from Mind Body Food Institute)
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (2024 from Pain Reprocessing Therapy Center)
Somatic Attachment Therapy, which includes Inner Relationship Focusing Levels 1 +2 (2023 from Embody Lab)
Decolonization Toolkit (2023 with Yoli Maya Yeh now doing work as DEIcipher)
Nature and Forest Therapy Guide (2022 from Association for Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs)
BA in Environmental Studies with a Concentration in Sociology and Anthropology (2002 from Denison University)
In my spare time…
I watch Netflix with my husband, talk about NBA players with my son, live out the Lorelai-Rory dynamic with my daughter (iykyk), substitute as a playworker at Wonder Woods forest school, roam the neighborhood and dog beach with my dog, watch my pollinator garden grow wild (and occasionally weed), help my husband run his business and band, send memes to my siblings, and ponder the meaning of life.
